SMS Terms

These terms apply to text messages (SMS) from the Rice Christian Study Center, operated by The Oxford House Christian Study Center (“the Center,” “we,” “us”).

The program

Rice Christian Study Center Text Updates sends messages about our events and programs, including event reminders, RSVP confirmations, schedule or location changes, updates about programs such as The Table lunch lectures and Fellows programs, and occasional invitations to upcoming Center events.

How you join

You join by checking the text-message box on a form at ricestudycenter.org, such as an event RSVP form or the chat window on our website, and submitting your mobile number. Checking the box is optional. Agreeing to receive texts is never required to RSVP, attend an event, or use our website. After you join, you will receive a confirmation text.

Message frequency and cost

Message frequency varies with our event schedule. Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message to cancel. You will receive one final text confirming that you are unsubscribed, and no further messages after that. You may also reply STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT. To join again, reply START.

Carriers

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

We do not share or sell your mobile number. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Read our full Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
